How do I schedule an assessment?
Computer-based Assessment: The CBA is administered by Prometric Testing Centres. As of June 4, 2020, Prometric has reopened many of their testing centres in Canada and the world.

Once you have registered with NCAS and paid the CBA assessment fee, you will be sent a link to Prometric's CBA web scheduling page. It will offer a range of dates and locations from which you may choose.
Simulation Lab Assessment: NCAS will resume SLA/OA assessments as of August 8, 2020. To schedule your SLA-OA, you must pay the assessment fee first. Once fees are received, you will be contacted by NCAS to book your SLA-OA date.
Due to the COVID-19 closure between March through August 2020, we have long waitlist for SLA/OA assessments. We encourage patience as we do our best to catch up after the COVID closure.
We have closely followed guidelines issued by WorkSafe BC to protect the health and safety of all Assessment Takers and Staff. Please see What to Expect for more details on NCAS' COVID-19 protocols.
Oral Assessment: There is no need to register separately for the Oral Assessment. When you register for the SLA, you are automatically registered for the OA. There is no separate fee.
It is recommended that you do not make any travel arrangements until you have scheduled your CBA and/or SLA-OA assessments.
You may reschedule your CBA up to 48 hours in advance of your scheduled session by visiting www.prometric.com and paying the applicable administrative fee. If you wish to reschedule less than 48 hours in advance of your scheduled session, you will forfeit the entire assessment fee, and be asked to pay the entire fee of a new session. The NCAS SLA/OA has limited daily capacity, and once scheduled, an SLA/OA spot has been reserved for you. Short notice rescheduling or cancellation may deprive another candidate of the opportunity to take the exam, and historically NCAS has had significant financial penalties in place to discourage this. However, in the context of COVID-19, NCAS is prioritizing Assessment Taker and Staff health and safety, and many of these fees have been relaxed.
At this time, we are allowing rescheduling up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled SLA/OA, though we appreciate as much notice as possible so we can attempt to schedule another Assessment Taker in your place. As we are managing a lengthy waitlist after the COVID-19 closure, it may take 2-4 months to reschedule your SLA/OA.
Should we be required to close our Assessment Centre at any time, all Assessment Takers will be notified immediately and placed on a prioritized waitlist for when we are able to resume SLA/OA assessments.
Please note that NCAS will not be responsible for any Assessment Taker travel expenses in the event of an Assessment Centre closure.
Due to the closure for COVID-19, all Assessment Takers who had been referred to NCAS prior to March 12, 2020 will have their standard 12-month deadline extended by five months. We are automatically applying this extension to this group; no specific request or approval is required.
This extension will not apply to referrals processed after July 1, 2020. The 12-month period will commence from the date we process your referral.
Future extensions may be applied should COVID-19 lead to additional closures.
NCAS does NOT allow applicants to re-take the SLA/OA or the CBA, except in exceptional circumstances where a candidate has been re-referred by the regulator or registry. If exceptional circumstances apply, please contact the regulator or registry that referred you. New fees will be applied.
