What to Expect

The NCAS Process (Step by Step)

  1. Set up an online account with NCAS.
  2. Complete the NCAS application and upload documents.
  3. NCAS confirms if a Computer Based Assessment (CBA) and a Simulation Lab Assessment (SLA) are required.

The CBA and SLA(s) are scheduled within three months of each other. The CBA is self-scheduled by the Prometric webpage, where an applicant books their dates and testing location. NCAS schedules the SLA.

  1. Performance Report(s) are shared within 60 days of assessment completion. The regulator is sent a report copy 15 days later. For more information on the NCAS Performance Report, visit our What to Expect page.

International Travel

  • Before travelling to Canada to complete an NCAS assessment, contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. NCAS cannot provide entry into any province to take an assessment and is not responsible for travel or accommodation costs.
  • Once an SLA is scheduled, NCAS can give a customized letter of invitation for business visitors to Canada that includes some information on the NCAS assessment for immigration officials. Contact NCAS directly to request a letter. It takes between three to five business days to prepare.
